Limit to 60 fps

edited 11:04AM in Suggestions
I have a gaming laptop, and would really really prefer if the game didn't have no limit as to how high the fps was. I kind of want to limit it to 60fps or 30fps so my PC doesn't overheat if I forget I left the program running or something.

At the moment, the game just uses as many resources as it can to squeeze out as many frames it can per second.  I know that with the amazingly built timing system that doesn't rely on framerate to play animations but actual time this should be a feasible request.

Please at least consider including it as an option.

It is limited to screen refresh rate or at least it should/used to be. What version are you using?

Unity is infamous for stressing systems though.

    The latest public build.

Screen Refresh rate is too high. Most screens have really high refresh rates.  I'd rather the framerate be limited to just 60fps.

There's no way to force Unity to render at lower framerates than screen refreshrate.

    Are you sure?

I swear I'm not just trying to be an annoying know-it-all or anything.  I just really like what this game is doing, and hate that my computer screams in pain every time I run it even though other games don't cause me nearly as much discomfort.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm asking for too much. I would really really appreciate it if the target framerate was 60fps or better yet something we could set ourselves.  Thank you for your time, and replying to me.

Thanks for sharing this. I [wrongfully] assumed no such setting existed, since it isn't available in the editor settings (together with vsync etc). I'll include a target framerate setting in the next build.

    Woot! Awesome.

Lol now the wait is real XD.

Will it actually even run faster than your screens refresh rate? If it does Vsync is a must to reduce screen tearing and to save resources.
