I'm wondering why there are restrictions on the number of characters allowed in a single interaction. I can understand some users hardware may not be able to cope with many more characters, but mine and surely many others can. Is this limit of 8 characters planning on being increased for Y2?

The character limit was implemented to avoid stressing systems too much, especially older ones.

It's far too early to say what the character limit will be in YL2. While we are optimizing a lot, we're also adding new systems. What the summed up strain these systems have remains to be seen.
