I'm super inspired to start learning 3D animation and stuff thanks to YL1. I've spent the last week devouring tutorials and making a bunch of simple shitposts and stuff. I've found that the time I spent making scenes in Yiffalicious was actually indirectly getting me familiarized with key 3D animation concepts (I know what IK means now!). Obviously, Maya is complicated as hell, but I like to think it helped sort of de-mystify the whole thing. I'm kind of curious how common this is for others.
Actually, this is actually the second time this has happened to me. I became a musician after I spent some time making music in this old game called Punk-o-matic 2. There's something about simplifying certain concepts and framing them within a more limited environment that works so well as a learning tool.
(also, should this be in off topic? I wasn't sure. It's sort of related to Yiffalicious ahaha)
