How do I make this option work properly? Do I need something else installed?

    DX11 compatible hardware and driver.

    You need:

    Hardware:
    Simplified list (it's not 100% accurate)
    • nVidia GeForce from 400 series and up
    • AMD Radeon HD 5000 series and up
    • Intel HD 2500 and HD 4000 and up (HD 3000 has no DX11 support)
    Software:
    • Windows Vista with all the lastest patches and service packs or newer.
    Drivers:
    • Lastest driver avaible for your graphics card (not really needed, but recommended)
    Note that tesselation needs more power from the grahpics card because it creates more geometry, so cheap graphic cards performance (this includes all Intel ones) will be even worse.
