  A cycle usually goes public at around the fifth incremental release (not including "patch releases"). So for example, in the case of the 0.5 cycle, the first 4 releases were patron only (0.5.0, 0.5.1, 0.5.2, 0.5.3), with the fifth one (0.5.4) being public. Each incremental release usually takes about a month, but sometimes it's longer and sometimes it's shorter. It depends.
