At this point pretty much all development on YL1 has ceased with the team focusing most of their effort on YL2. Hopefully they will fix said joint issues in the second version, the new engine may be more effective at joints than the current one.

The skin limit is built in per character. It would certainly be possible for them to do it, but I believe it would require some reprogramming. And given that they are working almost completely on YL2 at this point, I wouldn't hold your hopes out for…
